Great idea and shot for the challenge.
You can't pass each other. There are locks on both sides. But if you look carefully you will see on the right, just behind the first bush, a dam that the farmer uses to access the land. He can stand there.

Thank you everyone so much for your comments. It took me longer than a week to come up with something for the challenge. This was the best I could think of. Sue it only took me a few times. I focused on the towel on the wall.
