Gorgeous colors—especially the “Happy Jack” yarn. That was the name of a cat we had years ago. If it’s the name of the dog on the label, Happy Jack doesn’t look very happy.
@grammyn Thanks Katy. The two that have been wound are mine. The other is a present. The yarn is 80% merino wool and 20% nylon (which is good for making socks because it's gives some strength to the wool). The woman who owns the yarn shop in the next town dyes this yarn herself. There's a very good chance these yarns will become socks. @onewing Thank you Babs. Probably socks out of the two that are wound. The one still in a hank is a gift and the recipient will probably also make socks. @mcsiegle Thank you Mary. Too many to choose from. The owner has a schnauzer who stays in the shop. I thought maybe his name was Jack, but actually it's Mauser. Perhaps Jack is a previous dog. I should have asked. Looks pretty much like the dog in the shop. @shutterbug49 Thank you Debbie. I'll post whenever I finish a project with them. @kjarn Thank you Kathy. I have some other projects that will come first, but I will post when I make something with the two wound yarn cakes. The other is going out of state as a gift.
30pics4jackiesdiamond It feels good in the hank. The owner dyes the yarn and chooses such nice colors it was hard to choose and Lord knows I didn't need any yarn. But since I was there buying a gift for another yarnie, I decided to treat myself. They will probably all turn into socks. Magically, you know. @casablanca Made me smile too. As did the shop dog, Mauser, who could have sat for the picture on the yarn label. @gardenfolk Thank you. The label and the shop dog were both cute. @wakelys Thank you. Whenever I do them up, I'll post.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond since she somehow lost the sign in her response to you I thought you might not notice her comment especially since you are on vacation
@olivetreeann Oh wow. I thought I'd like to weave. I took a weekend class and said "been there, done that." I've never dyed wool myself. Too many chemicals just for a hobby.
