My get pushed partner this week challenged me to take a still life in the style of Pieter Claesz.
I enjoyed assembling object to put in this photo. The lighting was a bit tricky. In some of the artist's paintings, the light is yellowish, like candlelight or firelight and in some of them it's more white.
@jacqbb Jacqueline, here's my photo. I thought about it for several days, deciding what sort of objects to place in the photo and how to display them so the light would be right. I enjoyed this challenge. It was fun. Thank you.
Good job Kathy- it's so nice to look at- and it's giving me a craving for wine and cheese. Unfortunately I've already done the food shopping today! Well done!
@30pics4jackiesdiamond Thank you Jackie. @olivetreeann Thanks Ann. I was surprised I had some things that would go well in this scene. @pyrrhula Thank you Ferry. Unfortunately, the grapes are a bit sour. But still good, as is the cheese. The bread was stale and ready to be cut up and thrown out to the birds. @jacqbb Thank you Jacqueline. @mona65 High praise received from you Mona. Thank you very much. @jb030958 Thank you Jennie. The challenge was for the photo to look like a painting done by Pieter Claesz. If you like to see more of his work, follow the link in the discussion under the photo. @farmreporter Thank you very much Wendy. I tried. @bkbinthecity Thank you Brian.
The theme for the 52 week challenge for this week was "Your best shot." I guess this one because my submission for this theme.
@s4sayer Gosh, thank you Margo. I think it happens sometimes when a person posts more than one photo in a day. @vignouse Thank you Richard. I hope it is how you feel and not because Mrs. S scolded you. 😁
kathy, this is awesome! why this did not appear in my feed is beyond me. i'd have said something right away otherwise. your composition is bang on and the colour tone of the whole set up is so apt to the setting. and the lighting is really great. you have really nice props. aces! aces! aces!
@summerfield Thank you so much Vikki. I'm glad that I have some good light coming in my windows because i don't have many lights that work well for my indoor photos. I'm glad, too, that I have some "props." At least I can use them for photography even if I don't use them for anything else. I can't bear to get rid of the stuff.
A FAV!!
