Island in the Sun

Orcas Island, off the coast of Washington state, is truly one of my most favorite spots on the planet. We arrived yesterday for our annual visit with friends on this magical island, located in the San Juan archipelago between the US and Canada.
Getting to Orcas is the perfect illustration of the saying "the journey is the joy." We drove to the airport, flew to Seattle, then drove two hours to Anacortes, where we had a picnic as we waited with hundreds of cars at the docks for another two hours before crossing Puget Sound on the car ferry to our little piece of paradise.

I will have intermittent internet access so I will post when possible, but may have to wait until I return home to fill in my album. I apologize in advance for

Oh, so wonderful to hear that you will be spending some time at Orcas Island.....I loved that place when I visited on a biking trip many, many years ago! You are so lucky to have friends there that you can spend time with....have fun!!
