This eagle with bright yellow eyes was devouring its prey in a tree about 30 yards from the road in Kruger National Park. It's a juvenile --the large brown spots on its chest will disappear when it reaches maturity, at about 3 years of age. They eat snakes and other reptiles.
Elizabeth, you were so privileged to come across this scene, its one of those that one experience only maybe once in a lifetime. These eagles are magnificent birds and unfortunately very scarce. Excellent photo, very well done!!
