At the Watering Hole

Giraffes use their height to good advantage to feed on the treetops and keep watch for predators. But their height is also a disadvantage, making it dangerous for them to drink at the water hole. Bending down makes them vulnerable to the big cats. I took this shot across a large lake from the opposite shore where three giraffes were drinking. I really like the late afternoon light and the reflections.
I love this one with the lone giraffe and its reflection in the water. The light is superb! FAV!
