The Aftermath by redy4et

The Aftermath

Rain, heavy surf and powerful winds created massive flooding along the oceanfront this morning in our little beach town. At my house, we had 2 major leaks from the upper roof deck so now there's plastic sheeting on the floor of one bedroom and buckets to catch the water.
You capture the beauty of the morning after. It's amazing how it looks as if nothing happened. I'm used to the feeling being in Florida.

Wow... Lots of water. So sorry to hear about your damaged house. We've had a series of big storms back to back. Our beach has suffered but not our house, luckily.

Sorry to hear about your roof, I don't think that storm I recently shot caused much damage, and the large waves did not cause any flooding, at least where I was. Lovely shot of these ( unwanted) lake side houses.

The landscape of this is amazing. I hope the leaks are fixed by now.

I know how much we needed the rain, but we are all so entirely unprepared for the after effects in this part of the country. I knew we needed gutters at our new roof, but it became extremely evident that we should do something about it before the next rains. So sorry about the flooding at your house.... we had a major problem at our new detached garage a couple of years ago, and I know exactly how upsetting that can be. I hope they can relate the source of the leak quickly. Water does travel to low places that are nowhere near where the leak occurs... :-((

I just came across this beautiful photo, Elizabeth! We're only just back from Nova Scotia, and here comes the rain tonight! Much needed, I know, but not THIS much!
