The tendency of a body at rest to remain at rest or of a body in motion to stay in motion unless acted on by an outside force.
Today the only two sailboats on the water (mine and the one pictured) were in slow motion because there wasn't much wind. But at least we were moving! The unfortunate tankers in the distance were in a group of at least 30 ships sitting motionless in the harbor, victims of a week-long strike by port workers that shut down the busiest port in the U.S. It looked like a parking lot for super freighters. I read tonight that they have finally settled the strike and the workers won some concessions and a pay raise. Now they can begin unload the containers filled with cars, computers and articles of clothing so the ships can finally get a move on.
Oh, I so envy you being out on the sea with your camera. Even with the tankers, this is a wonderful capture. I think vignetting works well with the tone of the image.
