I was sifting through stacks of papers and old files this morning when to my amazement, I found the original handwritten recipes from my cookie bakery and candy store! I've been looking for them for the past six years, ever since they vanished when we remodeled our kitchen.
Finding these brought back memories of the 15 years I spent producing handmade cookies, brownies and chocolate caramel nut turtles on a daily basis.
In the photo you can see a sketch of my old-fashioned ice cream parlor, my apron, the recipes and my Grandma cookie jar. I was thrilled to find them after al this time. Guess I'll have to whip up a batch of chocolate chip cookies after I cut back the recipe, which calls for 4 pounds, four ounces of flour for openers.
That sketch needs framing, Elizabeth! Its part of your history which sounds very much like a hardworking career! You will never lose your skills with the cookies!
You've had such an interesting background! How cool to be able to bake and perfect for the theme. What a find -- you must have been so frustrated to have 'lost' these things for so long. Why did you leave the business?
What a lovely thing to find these lost treasures. Wonderful composition. Would love to stop by YOUR house sometime! Must have been fun to have such a delicious business. I bet it was very popular.
