Another view from our balloon ride over Central Myanmar. The countryside is crammed with ancient temples and pagodas, small lakes and waterways, farms and villages. We were so fortunate because it had been raining for two solid weeks and no balloons had flown until the day we had reserved. We went up at dawn and the pilot said it was the clearest day in many months.
You took my breath away with this one! It is just incredible! I have a friend who is from Burma and this is the best picture I have ever seen to help me know her home. Love, love, love this! FAV!!
Fav'd earlier but had to come back to say how amazing this looks! I thought of Pagan as dessert like, with mostly earth tones. I never knew it could look like this!
@taffy Thanks for the Fav! You're right! Bagan is dry and brown most of the year because it receives far less rainfall than coastal areas. We just hit it at the perfect time, right at the end of the rainy season.
So glad you were able to do the balloon ride....would have been sorry if you missed it! The day after ours over the Serengeti it rained, and they had to cancel that day's flights.
