The Jetty

We went bike riding this first beautiful day of the new year and as I crossed the bridge, I noticed the sun sparkling on the water. You can see a couple tankers in the harbor and Catalina Island in the background.
Lovely capture.

Santa Cantalina is the place for me! Know that song? The light caught here looks almost like moonlight! Beautiful!

The sparkling on the water is amazing! I so enjoyed your recent travel photos. They were outstanding in every regard.

So glad you enjoyed Charleston so much. I can't travel these days, so all my pictures at 365 are, and will continue to be, close to home, that is, Charleston and surrounding counties. There is an over-abundance of photo opportunities here, as you know, so I really don't have to travel far from home, as much as I would like to. I wish you a very Happy New Year!

Your picture gave me memories of my sailing days when I called the light on the water - diamonds on the water as they made me feel rich! And a picture of Catalina! How fabulous for me! Years and years ago we lived in the Tustin hills in Orange County. Sometimes coming down the hill we could see Catalina. And sometimes we could see the area in Newport Beach called Fashion Island and I would comment on it to my children. Years later my son admitted that he could never see Fashion Island because he was looking for an Island. I still laugh over that and feel badly at the same time. Thank you for dredging up that old memory for me!

@stownsend Suzie! That is such a cute story about your son. I laughed, thinking about how children take things so literally (mine did too).
