The first ferry stop in the San Juan Islands is Shaw Island, where the boat docks briefly to let cars and passengers disembark. It's always fun to stand on the bow to watch the docking procedure. Only two cars and one bicyclist left the ferry. It took less than 10 minutes. There was a loud blast on the ship's horn as we pulled out to head for the Orcas Island landing.
