The lavender fields attract bees by the dozens. On a previous trip, I visited the gift shop there, sampled some of the hand cream and about an hour later, got royally stung by a bee. Now I remind myself to just look and not touch any of the lavender fragrances in the shops and to keep a healthy distance from them in the field.
