For Flash of Red Week 2, I thought I’d try a b &w
post of Ca’ d’Zan, the Venetian palazzo-style home of John and Mable Ringling in Sarasota, Florida. Built in the 1920s, the Ringlings were inspired by the architectural style of the palaces in Venice, Italy. The home’s art, sculpture and furnishings were all imported from Europe.
Great capture! I have been there and loved the outdoor patio. I envisioned wooden boats pulling up to the dock and beautifully dressed couples stepping out onto the massive patio. I didn't tour the inside of the home.
Very nice detail. I had the good fortune to visit that same site many years ago. I loved the effect of the light shining through the colored glass panes, inside the house. Though they said they were having trouble finding replacement panes. That is a lovely shot in b&w. Fav
