Spanish Moss

Moss hanging from a Live Oak in the Carolinas. Turns out it isn't really moss and it isn't even Spanish but it's ubiquitous on the oak trees throughout the Carolina coastal areas and in Florida. I find it quite intriguing.

Wow, never knew that it wasn't moss. Its in the same family ( bromeliad ) as pineapples- who would have thought. I love this, there is a fabulous sense of softness and romance in this. Fav!

I remember these making such an impression on me as a youth when I first visited Florida. I thought they looked scary. But like you, I now find them to be fascinating. Great capture.
