Spotted this heron and a nest in a scraggly tree a couple hundred yards from the tall palms where I had photographed the other birds. Those branches don't look strong enough to me to support the nest but...

It's very odd why they build their nests in such places, it doesn't exactly look safe. Good shot.

I love how you composed this shot. nest in plain sight. just wait until the little babies arrive sticking up their little heads.We have a swampy area with bare trees, but full with heron's nests and then one year after a huge storm most the trees didn't survive.
