Waimea State Park is one of the most visited spots on the island of Kauai. It has diverse hiking trails, wild tropical foliage, waterfalls and expansive views of the canyon and the Na Pali Coast. We've visited on previous trips and yet it remains spectacular every time I see it. On this trip we rode mountain bikes from the top of the overlook all the way to the beach- about 11 miles downhill at sometimes uncomfortably fast speeds. It was definitely a rush and I was thrilled to arrive unscathed at the bottom.
