Lone Pine by redy4et

Lone Pine

I really like the way the sunlight highlights the single tree in this shot so even though it violates the rule of thirds, I wanted it in my Grand Canyon photo collection. I considered cropping out the rock on the right but decided to keep the full. frame This may be a Ponderosa Pine.

Thanks for all your views and comments.
Beautiful shot

Beautiful tree and light. The rock does take my eye to it since it is so bright…maybe you could burn it a bit?

Elizabeth, Jane gave you good advise. Even with that bright rock your composition worked very well. Seems like you picked a good time to break the rule of thirds. What a wonderful place you are getting to photograph.

Awesome capture. Think Jane's suggestion may really take away the pull in that direction.

A beautiful shot. Perhaps you could just dull down the rocks. they are a bit of a distraction.

@jgpittenger I took your suggestion and tried an edit using Lightroom for a second post of the pine tree shot. Let me know what you think?
