This is another example of the majestic scenery of the Southwestern U.S. About 5 million years ago, the Colorado River created this 1000-foot-deep “meander” that resulted in the horseshoe-shaped bend that can be viewed in Arizona’s Glen Canyon National park. I had always wanted to see it and we were fortunate to arrive on a clear day with only a few dozen onlookers. You can see a boat on the river on the left.
Elizabeth, did you hang your feet over the edge? Really nice capture of a really cool place. You were fortunate to be there when it wasn't crowded. The 2 times I have been there it has been crowded.
Nicely captured. I hear they now have railings put up all around the top. When I was there, my husband made me so nervous getting so close to the edge trying to capture the entire round of water.
Simply gorgeous image Elizabeth, stunning light, tones, textures and perspective, Fav, I've visited the Grand Canyon National Park four times now and it never ceases to amaze, Fav
