Hmm. Now that I think about it, maybe it’s a *good* thing there isn’t an IKEA store near us! This is just a small globe lamp that sometimes functions as a night light on our second-floor landing on top of the dual [IKEA] cabinets: my CDs and Clare’s books!

@michelleyoung I admire your determination for your spoon and water-splash shots. You achieve beautiful successes, but a huge amount of patience is/was required. I hope to try those set-ups as a diversion this summer!
@rhoing Thom thank you so much, thats very gracious of you to say.. It does require more patience than skill.. But once you have nailed it once, it does become easier.. Its just learning the lighting more than anything. At first it requires hours, unless you are lucky. But last night I managed to capture that shot within a few mins.. I set up a discussion recently in regards to the set up in the kitchen. If you ever want any hints or tips, just ask :o) Good luck!!!
@michelleyoung Oh, dear; *hours*, you say? Well, determination + patience often equals success, yes?
Don't discount your skill. If there were no skill or understanding present, you likely would *never* have achieved the beautiful results you achieved!
And thank you for your comment on my simple desperation shot with the lamp! BTW, the globe is white! The red must come from the wood of the cabinet...
@rhoing Thom, I am simply a stubborn cow lol If I see something I want to achieve, I will keep trying and trying until I actually succeed lol The original water photos were captured from around 700 photos, it was trial and error. Now I know I can get one in 10 mins. But its all down to set up to be honest. Then its patience to keep snapping and snapping.. I spend most of my time with my head shoved in my University books, so picking up the camera is time out to me. There was times where I could throw the camera against the wall lol It was ahuge learning curve. It's pretty sad that I now know how different water flows create different effects, and different base depths will change that effect lol... I love your globe shot, the colours brought up from the wood are warm and calm.. The photo is very pleasing to the eye, soothing..
