Today was a “get-things-in-order-before-we-leave-for-a-week” day. We got the yard ready for a week of “benign neglect” and organized the cat-care materials for our two cat-sitters.
The St. Louis airport is a 2+ hour drive from home and our flight is an early morning flight — 7:30 a.m., aka “stupid o'clock” — so we left to attend Saturday evening Mass along the way and spent the night in a quirky St. Louis hotel that offered “park-and-fly” for a seemingly-reasonable rate.
The shot I thought I would post would be the billowing drapes in our hotel room, but none of the shots really “worked.” Have you ever noticed how [many] hotel room AC units direct their chilled air *behind* the window coverings rather than into the room? Is that really cost-effective?

i love the patterns and contrast!!! so sorry, i am trying to catch up with everyones photos, just had alot going on lately and have fallen behind in my commenting! :o)
@michelleyoung Thank you, Michelle! It turned out better than I might have hoped in my 10:22 p.m. (or 22:22, hey look at that 24-hour time!) desperation!
@harley84 Thank you, Katherine! It is a pretty cool pattern.
No apology needed! Summer is play and vacation time and many of us are coming-and-going or having guests or other activities that only allow us to post and not "follow" or do our thank yous!
@espyetta Alas, Clare deals [still] with hot flashes; this is a fabric-covered fan that she can collapse and put in her purse. It's spread out on a hotel bed, which is the fabric at the top, visible between the fan "slats".
Thanks, MaryBeth! I enjoy putting the 1-year and 2-years ago links in my posts. It helps me see how I have changed as a photographer — hopefully for the better! It also helps put "the past" in appropriate context, as in, "Wow, that was a year ago already?!"
