A lot of time today: arranging for a rental car while Clare's vehicle sits in a shop. Today is two weeks since the accident. It took our insurance company (Horace Mann) nine days — nine days! — to get an appraiser to the vehicle, appraise it and move it to a repair site and have the collision shop order parts. Once the parts arrive? I was told another 3–4 weeks to render repairs. I don't expect to see Clare's vehicle this month. So today we rented this for a month: $660. Add that to the $500 deductible because her car was hit by an uninsured driver. (The woman's insurance lapsed in June.)
As long as some repairs now take, get rental coverage!
This week: get a new insurance company and new agent.
