This is my fold-up umbrella, standing up in a mug to dry in my office this morning. Coming home tonight, it was clear, just dark … when I hit a deer. Sigh. Hood bent at the leading edge; grill detached; right fender crimped with a dent and the condenser was bent back into the radiator. Bambi? She kept going, like the Energizer bunny! Tomorrow: estimates.

You're kidding! You mean the deer lived? After all that damage to you car, I'm surprised - sorry to hear about our accident - glad you weren't hurt! Hope tomorrow is better!
@sparkleplenty1 Thank you, Joyce; life goes on. Fortunately a car -- though expensive to repair -- is merely "stuff." And the good thing about "stuff" is that it usually can be repaired or replaced. Life and limb are another matter. Yep, the deer kept on going! I think I caught her hind half as she was nearly across the road. She may have been completely off the ground or have only planted front leg(s), so a lot of impact was absorbed by her moving through the air.
@digitalrn Thanks, Rick. Fortunately my rowing shell wasn't on the roof with a restraining line at the front bumper. Lots of damage, but a car is just "stuff"! Inconvenient to be without for several days, but in the grand scheme of life and worries about health and parents and children, this is just a "speed bump in life"!

@digitalrn Thanks, Rick. Fortunately my rowing shell wasn't on the roof with a restraining line at the front bumper. Lots of damage, but a car is just "stuff"! Inconvenient to be without for several days, but in the grand scheme of life and worries about health and parents and children, this is just a "speed bump in life"!
