Another early sign of the beginning of the Advent and Christmas seasons in our house is getting the creche down from the attic. This is a hand-crafted “structure” we bought in 1990 at a sidewalk sale or farmer's market-type situation from a local “artist” who called his manger-making business “My Goodness Crèches”. This one is built on an 11½-by-20" piece of plywood. The figures are not hand-crafted, but Fontanini figures.
Of course the manger is empty because it's not Christmas yet!
