Roland and I rowed on the lake today and this is how “hard-core” we are: there is ice on the lake!
Actually, it was quite mild today: mid-50s (°F). We only encountered a thin sheet of ice in places that are in shadow all day with the sun so low all day at this time of the year. The ice is so thin that it makes a “cracking” noise when a small wave ripples over-and-under it. It was a bit disconcerting, maybe even “cartoonish”…

@digitalrn Fortunately it was *not*! If we flipped and went for an unplanned "swim," *that* would have been chilling to the bone! Fortunately, my rowing buddy is an experienced outdoorsman … and a physician, so I'm in good company!
