No moth was harmed in making this photograph

On my way out the door before 7 a.m., I saw this guy (family Geometridae) on the outside of our screen door. Had camera in hand, so click-click-click and off to breakfast!

This guy is quite small, but I didn’t have a CSI-style marker to hold up to it!

Confirmed at BAMONA as Synchlora aerata (family Geometridae, subfamily Geometrinae) or “Wavy-Lined Emerald”; http://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/sighting_details/855813

Wow! He's transparent! And your screen is REALLY clean.

@ellen Thank you, Ellen!

@cmc1200 Or does Photoshop have a "> Dust" or "> Clear dirt" filter? ;) I didn't notice the transparency or transluscency until I saw the image on-screen.

@digitalrn Thanks, Rick!

@sparkleplenty1 Aha! Perhaps because they've always been on something green when you've been about!
