@espyetta The first couple I submitted took overnight (or so). Today I submitted 15 and 12 were confirmed today. The last 3 submissions were later in the day.
@espyetta You get a "sighting" page, which is where the above link takes you. If you want your image included in their image gallery, that's an email with (1) a cropped image, (2) an uncropped image and (3) the confirmation email from BAMONA. It's taken me much of a day to submit, receive confirmation and request to "share photograph" on my 12 submissions for today. I received a response from my first request to share my photographs that they are really backed up at that part of the process...
@espyetta They don't selectively request that you share your photos; they simply have a web page that explains what you have to do ( http://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/share_photograph). I have now revised my 365 posts with butterflies or moths to show that the identification has been confirmed and I have requested to share them at BAMONA… :-P
@michelleyoung We've both had kids and the "smallness" of things can be utterly fascinating, no? When humans start out small or on the "small" creatures outside!
@sparkleplenty1@digitalrn@kerristephens@xtech@cjwhite@espyetta Thank you, all! Confession: I always thought that the big things -- especially the colorful ones -- were "butterflies" and all the little, flitty guys tended to be "moths." Yeah, yeah, my biology/zoology knowledge is seriously lacking. (One class in high school and nothing in college because I was a "natural science" major in mathematics... It's why I recently read a book on cellular evolution.) This is one area where 365 has taught me so much! Especially, lately, Carolyn and MaryBeth!
@rhoing Yay! Carolyn has taught me alot of what I know! And Robert Velten. I am building some knowledge though...I must admit. You should come check out my wasp pics I just posted. It took me FOREVER to find out exactly what type of wasp it was...but I did it. Yay!
I'm very envious of your ability to get all these butterfly shots and gave it a go with my zoom lens whilst on holiday last week. I'll be posting a couple some time next week :o) xx
