Not where I expected to spend time this weekend…

Nothing artsy here; a photo-journaling type post for sure on a 6-frame day: 5 trashed and one posted. (Without the incentive to post to 365, it would have been a zero-frame day.)

My rowing-shell-carrying car. Initially it was just a dead battery yesterday in our driveway, but of course what chases us to the repair shop almost-always expands into other things that are wrong, yes? In this case it was front struts and lower ball joints (loose and wobbly). Almost $1,500 (approx. 1,150€) before all was said-and-done. At least I read all of the grad students’ quizzes from Thursday during my wait time…

The day ended better than it started: we had dinner at our house with our friends Greg & Suzanne — http://365project.org/rhoing/365/2012-09-02
Clare made her lasagna and a delicious new dessert (a chocolate cake with a peanuts-and-peanut butter frosting). It’s a good thing I made it to the gym today!

Bummer! Having similar issues with hubby's car atm, it simply won't start. It would happen the one day of the year when I'm away with my car! xx

I feel for you.. mine spent the a week in the garage with a massive bill at the end of it... But it does sound like a wonderful dinner :)

Oh, no! Such pain in the pocket! At least you were able to salvage the day with a nice dinner with friends!

Surprizes like that are never welcome, but it sounds like it all ended ok, maybe a little painful, but still not bad if you consider the cake :)
