For one person I know, it was having a master bedroom large enough for a sofa or love seat for reading. For someone else I know, it was having a room that isn’t used every day. For me, one criterion has been having a dedicated space where I can leave a dictionary open. A friend of mine in graduate school was studying “classics” and as I recall, he had a small stand (possibly on casters?) for his Greek/Latin dictionaries.
Recently I have been on quest to organize my home office and I have finally cleared enough horizontal square-inch’age to leave an open dictionary! What’s showing here? It’s open to the page for “swift,” for two days ago’s post.
I know I technically “missed” the 24th, but I hope you’ll cut me a few minutes’ slack…
