Went rowing today. When I got back to the dock, I thought I would photograph all the “hardware” that goes with a rower, or at least goes with me when I go out to row for exercise. (This wouldn’t necessarily be relevant for the kids and adults who row in twos-and-doubles, fours-and-quads and eights of course, but most of this is standard stuff when I go out in a single by myself.)
» water bottles (two in the summer)
» cell phone in the dry bag (the cell phone that was super-handy once upon a time — http://365project.org/rhoing/365/2012-09-24
» car key and house key
» point-and-shoot camera (it took the photo, so it’s not *in* the photo)
» GoPro Hero3 mounted on the boat in the water
» oars
» sliding seat (upside down behind the water bottles)
When I saw this image, I thought, What’s that on the end of the oar? Had to look a couple times before I figured out that it’s a photo-bombing butterfly! Probably an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail. Note its partial shadow along the left edge of the image.
