Yum!

Today we used our gift certificate from the girls. We went to Mass at a small country church in Anna, Illinois, and then went to one of our favorite restaurants, also in little Anna, the Brick House Grill, http://annabrickhousegrill.com/

This is my meal tonight, grilled pork chops with goat cheese. We start with a craft beer and finish as usual: bread pudding with bourbon sauce. One of the things we like about Brick House is the veggies are always "done" properly and served hot. Indeed, if the cook sees a plate or order sitting too long waiting for the server, she'll bring out the food!

The restaurant is run by two sisters from southern Illinois, one of whom worked for several years in Bar Harbor's Cafe This Way, http://www.cafethisway.com/

Clare had what she often has, cashew-crusted chicken topped with sesame-ginger aioli.
