Was driving into the park this morning and saw this guy up on the stand. Circled around and got out and got a few shots from afar, and then moved in to see how close I could get. This is one of the closer up shots, which was about 15 feet away, but I was hiding behind a larger tree, so pretty much stayed concealed, until bending out to get the shot. Even then, it didn't seem to bother him. So got the shots, and left it guarding it's perch.
Believe this may be one of your best - what fabulous focus and great dof - love those claws. The lighting and colors are wonderful. Fav and very envious!
You are definitely the Hawk Whisperer. I'd be thrilled beyond words to get this close to such an impressive bird, not to mention getting a photo this awesome.
