Today we visited a local falconry centre. I think this is a Gyrfalcon/Saker cross but I may be wrong as there was maintenance occurring which meant some birds had moved around and some signs therefore didn't match the bird in the enclosure.
A beautiful photo - I love the feather detail. I took a peek at your blog too - I've never heard of this place before - the baby owl photo is really good - and the kestral too - looks like you were spoilt for choice on what to pick for 365 !
I took this by putting the lens right up to the mesh, we weren't in with the bird. Many of them are quite tame though as they are used to people and being handled and there is the option to pay extra and do some bird handling or even flying, but we were happy to pay less and just look at them!
