This photo was inspired by it being the start of National Insect Week. I decided to go for cuckoo spit over ants, bees etc as I think it's more interesting and I like froghoppers! Inside the froth is a froghopper larva. I'd like to see it emerge but I can't spend all my time watching and waiting so I'll probably miss it! There's also a couple of aphids on there, one standing on the froth.

Nice shot. You've done a great job of capturing that. I like the bubbles in the "spit" and the texture of the background.

I love cuckoo spit too. My daughter picks out the little froghoppers whilst they still have their delicate skin so I tell her to pop them back in the froth where they are safe. Great capture of nature's wonder
