At 8pm today I disturbed Ernie from his nap, in his favourite spot, the corner behind the pipes. He looked so cute sleeping but he wakes as soon as he feels the footsteps coming!
I had planned to snap Ernie today before the photo a day challenge began as it's 'Rescue Day' - we don't know how old Ernie is for sure, or when he was born so Ernie has happy rescue-days instead of happy birthdays! It's 4 years today since we took him from his miserable old home and started making him a happy turtle. He has a passenger in this photo... Ernie is a 'snail-farmer' so it's not unusual to see him transporting a snail or two on his back!

We find him in all sorts of positions, he's fond of hanging out upside down too! Here he just lifted his head to look at me, it was down in the corner before I disturbed him.
