Went for a short stroll with an elderly friend who lives near Rudyard Lake. Neither of us have ever seen more than a trickle running over the overflow thingy before so it was an interesting sight and I loved the sound of the water gushing past.
Drive past leek quite a bit. Great shot. It's great at derwent when the water overspills the dam walls and rushes down like that. No hosepipe bans soon : )
Can your camera open up to a longer exposure, say 1 second? (You perhaps need a tripod, or a place to rest your camera). Dropping the ISO manually down as far as you can get it might achieve this without doing anything else. You will get a lovely "wispy sheet of water" over the flow that you might find interesting.
I might have saturated the colors a little more, unless you wanted the muted tones for the effect.
