I ventured up here (the road below the rocks) for a particular photo I needed for another project. This road wasn't too bad, but when I reached the lane I was heading for, I knew there was no way my little car would manage it - it had a thick layer of snow on it and the road was closed anyway, so I had to turn around and come back along this road. I met a tractor coming in the opposite direction at one point which was a scary moment. He didn't have anywhere to go, so I had no choice but to pull into a small snow drift, on an uphill slope and hope I'd be able to get out of it again. Luckily I'm a competent snow driver - I did have slight trouble due to the slope but I managed to roll back out of most of the snow and then get the wheels moving again :)
Wow, apologies for not checking your stream for a while -- what a beautiful set of Peak District snow photographs! I've faved a couple but they're all beautiful -- and well done for not getting stuck!
I got my car stuck in a snow drift yesterday :( Facing uphill, with three wheels on ice that had been slush when I parked that morning, one wheel stuck in snow and nowhere to go with another car parked directly behind me! Managed it in the end, but wasn't much fun. Glad you got what you wanted :)
