the cherry tree by roachling

the cherry tree

It's has been alternating blizzards and sunshine all day and is so very cold. The snow didn't stick on these fields but there's a light dusting on all the hills. I wasn't up for going outside other than to fill the coal scuttles, and looking at year old blog posts and pictures from my project from last March, I was inspired to rephotograph the cherry tree for comparative purposes. A year ago, March was much warmer and we had some really hot days nearer the end of the month. The cherry tree a year ago was much more advanced than this.See it here:

Boo
that really is a difference! It has been much warmer here than previous years and not half as much snow as we usually have. A couple of winters ago we over a meter of the white stuff.

Wow, what a difference, so much more colour at this time last year. I like the way you have taken time to do a comparison. Hopefully this years colour will be here soon!

I love the tree branch against the soft background of fields and stone walls and distant hills. You have a lovely view.
