Back to school this morning sadly (I was hoping for a 4-day weekend!).
Roads are still closed officially but are passable, just have to drive around the huge drifts in places.
I passed the first of my Teachers Skills Tests this afternoon (one down, one to go) and didn't have much time or inclination to take a photo today.
Instead, I made up this picture - on the left is a photo of me taken a year ago, on 24th March 2012. It was warm, we went for a walk on Curbar Edge after this photo was taken and I was bare foot (I love to walk barefoot). On the right is an image from the same weekend this year. Quite a contrast.
By the way, the photo on the left was an illusion - I couldn't really reach him!
@leighton22 I drove up it in a punto this morning. It's officially closed, but is passable. There are some huge drifts around but the plough has done a pretty reasonable job. You just have to overtake drifts on the road in places, and in some spots it's still blowing over, but yes, with care it's fine. I think it'll only get better from now as the gritters and ploughs keep going.
Love the title. Just shows how different the weather is this year. Roll on summer.
