I went out to photograph my other monthly tree as that should have been today's photo, but I didn't do too well - when I compared it to previous versions, I'd not got the composition as good as I could have and was a little too far to one side. I wasn't happy with it, so I'm uploading this one in which I like the tiny bit of sunlight hitting the top of some of the rocks, and will take the tree again tomorrow.
Lovely landscape, like the path winding away into the hills. The path you are also makes us want to see what around the corner. It's certainly a cloudy day, that little bit of light peeking through gives a bit of hope for it to brighten up

Good point, thanks. I wasn't intending this shot to be used here or I might have thought more about composition. I didn't like my intended shot though. This was a quick snap from the car, just because I liked the little bit of light catching the top of the rocks (though it had lessened by the time I switched the camera on). It'd be hard to get a much better version from the left as the lane drops steeply and beds around past my friends house in the picture, but I might try your suggestion next time I'm passing and see what I can do!
