350 million years ago, this limestone valley was the sea bed.
What a lovely day it was today... I was able to spend a bit of the afternoon at play, so I drove over to one of my favourite bookshops as I needed to pick up some books and then took this photo on the way home.
Tried to walk over the ridge path on that little darling once - never been up anything so knee-wrecking in my life! Looks inviting enough in that shot to try again though :-)
Thanks all. It is a lovely area, my grandparents lived just up the road from here when I was a child. Mat and Andrina - it's a great place for walking, last time we walked either of these hills, it was the one you can just see the base of the right of the track in the photo, and it's on my blog for anyone interested. http://roachling.blogspot.co.uk/2011/08/walking-in-dove-valley.html
Beautiful composition, love the elements in ths landscape, especially that dry stone wall. Although these walls are the work of humans, they often seem to me to have grown out of the land naturally.
