Proper English Bluebells by roachling

Proper English Bluebells

as opposed to the invasive, scentless Spanish ones which I hate with quite a passion and are wiping out these lovely English ones, slowly but surely. The woods and meadow here had these bluebells but every garden I passed on the way there was full of Spanish bluebells, so it won't be long before I'm seeing hybrids here and then Spanish I suppose.
Great photo. Those flowers are so gorgeous in color and haunting in shape. Judging from your photos, you are in a beautiful area. Lucky you!

These are so very lovely and a fav for me. I hadn't realized that the Spanish were wiping out the English--I sympathize with your feelings about this.

I didn't even realise that was a problem! I have now been suitably educated, and actually have a pack of english bluebell seeds in the garage, i'll be sure to plant them out!
