New Year by roachling

New Year

I tend to take essentially the same photo for 365 each year on either New Year's Eve or Day! It's because we don't go out, we just mooch about at home with limited photo opportunities! I've just looked back and tagged my first/last shots of the years that involve this table and drinks/candles so I can see them all together ( http://365project.org/tags/roachlingnewyear ). I'd like to think I've at least improved on composition and quality, if not subjects, hehe!

This was taken just before we settled down to watch the TV version of Roald Dahl's Esio Trot (which we had recorded earlier), one of my favourite books when it was newly published (when I was 7 or 8). I've also been planning what I'm going to read over the next few weeks, hence the book pile on the table.
Looks like a lovely, cosy night in :) Esio Trot was one of my favourites, too :)

Happy New Year Louise! Staying home is a FINE tradition, the best, I think (well, for me).

I like traditions (those which do no harm to anyone, human or nonhuman) and this is a lovely still life. Happy 2105 Louise, I look forward to seeing your shots throughout the year, and especially those which reveal your love of nature.
