I pass a field of cuckoo flower (and other flowers when they come) regularly and today, in need of a photo, took a quick snap. It was very windy though, the flowers were blowing around it didn't turn out how I planned! Not too keen on this shot, but I don't have anything better today!
@roachling I don't remember seeing it at all or maybe didn't register it. Thank you for that great link. I went through it to find the flower for my county which is the pasque flower which grows on the nearby Heath.
@jennywren I've never seen pasque flowers (don't think there are any / many around here!) but I visited a place called Barnack Hills and Holes last year where lots grow (but I was there at the wrong time of year!) and I really hoping to visit whilst they're flowering this year... by coincidence, I was just looking them up and wondering if I could manage the trip!
@roachling I have posted some shots of them in the past, again sometimes you just miss the best of them. They flower in April, Easter time but in very few areas. How strange that you were thinking of them just then!
