365 Days Wild - Day 112

Wandering through a birch and oak wood this afternoon. Loads of fungus, but the majority of it had been nibbled or damaged.
These always look so pretty. Something has had a good meal off it. A lovely way to spend part of the day.

This will make you chuckle Louise, but until very recently, I thought these mushrooms were not real and just made up Lol!!! Was thrilled when I found one in Scotland!!

@andrina hehe, so many people have said that here or on my blog when I've posted photos before! I think a lot of people don't think they're real as you don't see them all the often really.

Isn't this some kind of amanita, which is poisonous? Makes a great picture, though.

Yes, fly agaric - or Amanita muscaria.

Great find and shot. I have never found one of these but would love to. Years ago before didgi cameras my Dad found one of these and took loads of photos then moved on with their motor home. Much later in the day and many miles away for the toadstool be discovered he hadn't had a film in his camera ha ha.
