Setting up for a Wild Party

Work this morning for Derbyshire Wildlife Trust, delivering a dragon party for some three year olds. We looked for signs of dragons living at Carsington Water (found scratches on trees, a (mossy) stump a dragon had sneezed all over and some (alder cone) dragon poo!

We also did some very successful bug hunting (worms, slugs, snails, a caterpillar, woodlice, millipedes and centipedes) and then made a clay creation to take home to remember the party by.

brilliant stuff. my friend from our writing group is dragon mad... she would have tagged along on this !

@flowerfairyann yes they are (the parents always enjoy them too!)... it's the wildlife trust who do all the planning, I just turn up and deliver the party, but they do cover a nice age range and can be apdated to suit age and interests of the child! There are also parties for pond dipping and ones that involve toasting marshmallows on a campfire, as well as the simpler ones like this. Great fun as well as engaging children with nature :)

Another fun day. If you want dragons though you need to come over here to North Wales!!
