I've just realised that I never uploaded my photo for this day. it's only a week late!
I spent the morning where I grew up, working with Staffordshire Wildlife Trust to launch their new 'Wildlings' sessions on The Roaches.
It was a good turnout for a first event with roughly 20 children attending. There was a mud kitchen, bug hunting, mini shelter building, stories, bird feeder making, a juice and biscuit break, hammocks to relax in and, of course, free play in the woods and clambering on boulders. This was my childhood playground and it's definitely a great place some for wild play!
In the picture is the mud kitchen we set up. There are a few more photos in this blog post from the day.
oh.our lovely roaches...i must tell my daughter about this..they were at coombes again yesterday...they just love that mud kitchen there.brilliant stuff..!
@brennieb Yes look out for it - last I heard, the plan was that it would be every Monday from 4th September. I think it was going to be about 6 weeks at The Roaches and another 6 at Gradbach too... SWT have a facebook page where activities ad events like this are listed so if she's on there she could follow it. https://www.facebook.com/swtactivities/
