All this was caused by wild campers. The moorland will not recover quickly from this, it's going to take many years to restore this to the same kind of state, and I dread to think of the damage to the trees on the other side of the rocks. So much life on the moors is just gone. There are also a number of properties on the moorlands, some just meters away from a blackened patch. All this could have been so easily avoided.
We've had some more rain here this evening so hopefully the fire will no longer be spreading. Yesterday, I heard it was up to 80 acres of moorland burnt.
