Who Was That Masked Mammal?

A Raccoon encounter while retrieving a Mosquito trap late this AM, two of these guys wandered up the trail behind me then suddenly realized I was there about 2m ahead. A 30 sec double take and they broke trail left. Good times.

Such cuties! We have actually had trouble with a couple of them attacking people downtown over the last week or so. Animal control final caught up with them and put them down because it was becoming a real issue. Too bad...they are cute!

They are just so cute. was this during day hours? we spotted some in our flower garden during day time. when getting too close they just climb up a tree. I remember once where the racoon went back and forth on different branches..looked like he didn't know how to get down.
I watched for quite awhile but missed when he got off.
