We visited a friend who lives in a more rural setting than we do and he has 50 chickens, just roaming around his house. They all know where to roost at night, so they are just "chickens on the loose" during the day. Here is one, running across the yard (she saw me coming). How marvellous - the proper definition of free range chickens. They must be so happy. We have only 2 hens, but they are allowed free range for a few hours per day.
